1400th Anniversary of Prince Shotoku’s Death

Horyu-ji houses the world's oldest wooden building, and was the first World Heritage site in Japan. The year 2021 marks the 1400th anniversary of the death of its founder, Prince Shotoku, and the following commemorative events will be held.
